Which chapter are you on?

Everyone you’ve met so far. No one you haven’t.

Upload a book, tell ImagEnation which chapter you’re on, and see portraits of its characters only up to there.

You turn the page. The cast follows.

Every character steps on stage at the chapter that introduces them, never before. Scroll back and they leave. The filter runs on the server, so later chapters never reach your screen.

Every portrait starts as a plain sheet.

ImagEnation gathers what the book has said about a character up to your chapter, and nothing after it, then paints one full-body figure on a white ground. If the book hasn’t said it, the description leaves it blank.

The portrait changes with the book.

A lasting change starts a new phase with its own portrait. A look that lasts a single chapter, like a disguise or a transformation, is shown in that chapter only. You can paint every phase in one go.

Ask the book. It only knows what you’ve read.

The chat answers from chapter 1 up to the limit you set, and from nothing else: not later chapters, not what the internet knows about the book.

  1. YouWhy is it always six o’clock at the tea-party?

The bookThe Hatter says he quarrelled with Time, and since then Time won’t do a thing he asks. It’s always six o’clock, so it’s always tea-time.

  2. YouWho stole the tarts in chapter 11?

Your book stays yours.

  • Private by default. Your book, its chapters, characters and images are visible only to you.
  • Shared only if you want. A public link shows the characters chapter by chapter. Never the text, never the file.
  • Spoiler-safe on the server. The chapter filter runs before anything is sent to your screen.
  • Your keys stay locked. API keys and sign-ins are stored encrypted and never shown back in full.

Start from the chapter you’re on.

PDF, EPUB, TXT, DOCX or Markdown. Files with DRM can’t be read, and ImagEnation never tries to unlock them.
